The minimum wage debate seems more like open warfare between the public and private interests in America. Cities like Seattle and Los Angeles have already raised the minimum wage to $15 an hour. With cities like New York holding hears on the minimum wage, many companies are speaking out. Companies like McDonalds (NYSE: MCD) have replaced workers with kiosk and Dunkin' Donuts (NASDAQ: DNKN) CEO says the minimum wage would hurt the companies profits. Now Buffalo Wild Wings CEO throws his hat into the ring saying $15 minimum wage will hurt jobs for teens. According to CNN, Sally Smith, the CEO of Buffalo Wild Wings, says if the minimum wage was raised to $15 an hour the company might not hire teens. Her comment comes right before New York votes on whether or not to raise the minimum wage. Even though Buffalo Wild Wings is not on the list to be affected by the wage hike. However, in cities like Seattle and Los Angeles will have to raise the wages to $15. This could be bad news for teens since the unemployment rate for teens is around 20%. With the raise in the minimum wage, their might be a lose in jobs for teens. "It may be hard to justify hiring a 16-year old for $15 an hour when you get can get experienced people," Smith said.
