Samsung has cut its forecast for smartphone sales for 2014, they were originally forecasting 360 million smartphone sales and have now brought it down to 330 million units. The new forecast shows an expected growth of 14% on a year over year basis for 2014. Samsung is expecting smart phones sales to rise 43% on a year to year basis for 2013, so there is a huge drop in expected sales. Samsung is lowering its expectations because it believes the high end market for smart phones has become saturated, and it has so many companies now offer smart phones that either run on Google's Android operating system or you have Apple's option the iPhone.
