SumZero.com is a social networking site for professionals in finance. The site recently launched a service; SZ Compensation, where members can submit the compensation compared to the other members and it is all anonymous. Within hours of launching the service the website was flooded with submissions and here is some of the data. Out of the 220 submissions they got in the first three hours, 145 were from hedge funds, 45 were from mutual funds, and 30 from private equity funds. The minimum compensation was $75,000 the maximum compensation was $2.15 million and the average compensation was $264,000. Now this is just a small sample, more like a quick snap shot of what its like in finance. What do you guys think of these numbers, are they what you expected?
