Mitsubishi Motors has admitted to manipulating test data involving 625,000 vehicles to improve fuel-economy claims. Its shares plunged 15% in Tokyo, the most in more than a decade. The affected models include those supplied to Nissan, which discovered the issue. The two companies are discussing compensation and Mitsubishi is also checking whether the cheating affected overseas cars.
