Our famous airplane company, Boeing, is currently working on new marketing strategies to extend sales of their jet for few more years until a new version is ready. As the new model will not be available until 2020, they must do what they can to continue selling the current 777s and bring revenue in for the company. It is their aim to pair orders for the 777X with the current-generation jet. Another issue they face is keeping the current 777 production at present pace as they are facing competition from Airbus, whose new models are expected to be delivered this year and 2017. In order to make the transition smooth, they are playing with ideas such as allowing customers to sell their old 777s to cargo carriers, and then buying the new 777s to replace them.
