(Image source: businessinsider) Sears Holdings Corp (NASDAQ:SHLD) is mulling plans to separate its Lands’ End and Auto Center businesses from the rest of the company as part of a turnaround strategic. Sears wants to focus more on the retail side of things such as Kmart and Sears stores. The company has been closing down stores and selling real estate in order to turnaround the business. But same-store sales were down again for the quarter. Same-stores declined 3.7 in the third quarter. The separation is a great move; tires don’t mix well when you’re trying to sell clothes. It seems like the market is agreeing with me, shares are trading 5 percent higher in the openning.
