Zuckerberg’s (NASDAQ: FB) foundation, FWD.org, began in 2013 and attempts to increase the amount of legal immigration through the use of H-1B visas. Businessman Donald Trump, currently leading in the polls to be the Republican Party’s presidential nominee, has publicly denounced H-1B visas, implying that letting more immigrants into the United States will demolish the job market for Americans, among a slew of other issues, CNN Money reported. However, President of FWD.org Scott Schulte recently released a statement stating if mass deportations were to occur in the United States, it would cause an economic collapse. According to Schulte, it could cost the US approximately $1.7 billion. Further, increasing the amount of H-B1 visas will increase the amount of jobs in the United States for Americans, rather than Trump’s argument that it will result in the opposite. Other business figureheads involved with Zuckerberg’s initiative include CEO of Yahoo Marissa Meyer and former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates. “What’s absurd is not just these ‘plans,’ but that those who would seek to represent Americans as president are falling over themselves to support backward policies that would rip apart American families and collapse our economy,” the statement said, according to CNN Money.
