In the last trading session, U.S. stocks were mixed due to the mixed impact of almost unchanged oil prices and Q1 earnings of several companies having surpassed soft expectations. Among the top ETFs, investors saw SPY shed about 0.5%, DIA lose about 0.6% but QQQ move higher by 0.01% on the day. Two more specialized ETFs are worth noting in particular though as both saw trading volume that was far outside of normal. In fact, both these funds experienced volume levels that were more than double their average for the most recent trading session. This could make these ETFs ones to watch out for in the days ahead to see if this trend of extra interest continues: REZ: Volume 4.45 times average This U.S. real estate equities ETF was under the microscope yesterday as nearly 261,230 shares moved hands. This compares to an average trading day of 58,710 shares and came as REZ lost about 2.3% in the session. The movement was due to a subtle rise in the U.S. Treasury yields in recent sessions due to the rising risk-appetite of consumers. As real estate underperforms in a rising rate environment, the movement in the fund is self-explanatory. REZ was down about 3.8% in the past one-month period. BSJG: Volume 4.09 times average This high-yield corporate bond ETF was in focus yesterday as roughly 402,000 shares moved hands compared with an average of roughly 98,240 shares. We also saw some price movement as shares of BSJG lost about 0.1% yesterday. The fund has a Zacks ETF Rank #4 (Sell). In the last one month, BSJG was down about 0.2%.
