Welcome to the latest episode of the Full-Court Finance podcast from Zacks Investment Research where Associate Stock Strategist Ben Rains dives into Apple’s AAPL newest and most impressive fitness and health-focused wearable, the Apple Watch Series 4. The episode then takes a look at some new sports content on Snapchat SNAP, before finishing up with Nike’s NKE latest international push.Apple showed off all of its newest products last week to help generate buzz ahead of the holiday shopping period, which included its new iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR. Yet, the Apple Watch Series 4 helped steal some of the thunder from Apple’s flagship smartphones. Apple’s COO Jeff Williams, who presented the Apple Watch last week at the company’s big showcase, said the Apple Watch Series 4 has “become an intelligent guardian for your health.”Clearly, Apple and its executives are going to hype products, but Apple’s newest smartwatch has taken some big steps toward giving users a more complete look at their health. One of the showstopping features is Series 4’s ability to take an electrocardiogram or ECG. Apple’s latest watch boasts a lot more workout and health-based features that could help it continue to blow away Fitbit FIT and Chinese giant Xiaomi. The episode then dives into The Players' Tribune’s new Snapchat SNAP push as the social media firm struggles to find its footing. The Players' Tribune, on the other hand, has already created similar content for Twitter TWTR and YouTube GOOGL as companies experiment during a media age obsessed with Netflix NFLX and Amazon AMZN.Moving on, Nike, which has continued to grab headlines for its Colin Kaepernick ads, officially debuted a partnership between its Jordan Brand and a global soccer giant. Last week, Nike and French soccer club Paris Saint-Germain announced a deal that will see the club sport Jordan-sponsored jerseys. The move helps highlight Nike’s fight against Adidas ADDYY to control the world’s most popular sport. Meanwhile, Nike continues its fashion push in one of the planet’s fashion hubs as athleisure fuels the rise of Lululemon LULU and others. As a reminder, if you feel that we missed something, or if you have any topic suggestions, shoot us an email at podcast@zacks.com.
