Tidal, Jay Z’s streaming service launched earlier this year gained support of numerous celebrities, like Madonna and Kanye West, who signed a contract to partner with the new music streaming service and "forever change the course of music history.” According to Business Insider, Drake was apart of the original 16 partnered artist of Tidal, but pulled out at the last minute. It is reported that Drake turned to one Tidal's biggest rivals, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). The company will launch its new streaming service next week and with the music streaming field so saturated, the Apple service will use celebrities to curate playlists and produce exclusive content to set itself apart, as stated by Business Insider. Along with Drake, artists like Pharrell Williams will collaborate with the platform. Apple’s streaming service will cost $10 per month once it launches.
